The monthly beat

Payroll: filing and payment of wage taxes per month, per the payroll cycle. Bookkeeping closed monthly keeps every later deadline light.

The quarterly beat

VAT by the last day of the month after each quarter — the dates in the VAT calendar — with the ICP declaration alongside for EU B2B sellers and the OSS return for EU consumer sellers.

The yearly beat

  • By 31 May: accounts of the previous year prepared (extension possible to 31 October).
  • Within 6 months: the AVA with adoption and discharge.
  • Within 8 days of adoption, at the latest 31 December: filing at the KVK per the deadlines.
  • Corporate tax return: after year-end on the Belastingdienst’s invitation; adviser extensions shift it later in the year.
  • Q4 VAT return: carries the year-end corrections — BUA, pro rata, private use.

The register layer, event-driven

KVK, UBO and the shareholder register update with each change rather than on a date — the routine in KVK changes. One calendar, one owner, one review per quarter: the whole compliance year in an hour a month.
