The apostille. Notarial documents, including powers of attorney, are apostilled by the Camera Notarilor Publici of the region where the notary works. Company register documents (certificat constatator) and court documents are apostilled by the Tribunal. Civil status and administrative documents are apostilled by the Prefecture.
Good to know. There are three different apostille authorities, depending on the type of document. Ask the notar which one applies to the deed.
If a company from Romania becomes a shareholder
Register extract, at most three months old: Oficiul Național al Registrului Comerțului (ONRC). Order a certificat constatator (current status certificate). Plus articles, signing authority and ownership chart.
Romania: business register and trade
Romania's trade register is kept by the National Trade Register Office, a public body under the authority of the Ministry of Justice. Its website is free to consult 24 hours a day, and its e-services portal is free after registration as a user.
Certificates, information and certified copies are issued in Romanian, for a fee set by Order 380/C/2024 of the Minister for Justice. Orders are possible online through the InfoCert service, paid by card, or by email, by post or at the counters. Postal orders cost an extra 7.68 Romanian lei.
Electronic documents are signed with a qualified electronic signature or seal. Paper versions are available at the offices or by post or courier.
Provisional figures for 2025 show goods exports from the Netherlands to Romania of €6.15 billion and imports from Romania of €3.6 billion.
