When the answer is a refusal: objection, appeal and the timing

A refusal letter is a decision rather than an ending, and the most common reason people lose the case is the calendar. Six weeks is the window, and it starts on the date of the decision rather than on the day the letter reaches you. Here is what happens inside that window.

The six weeks

An objection is filed with the immigration service within six weeks of the decision. The same window applies to a refused application for approval as an employer. Missing it usually ends the matter, whatever the merits underneath.

What an objection actually is

A request for the service to look again, addressed to the service itself rather than to a court. That has an advantage: new evidence may be added. Many refusals rest on a document that was missing, unclear, or read differently than intended, and supplying it properly is often the whole case.

If the objection is rejected in turn, the route continues to the court.

What strengthens an objection

Read the reasoning first. The letter states which condition was found wanting. An objection that answers a different question rarely lands.
Supply the evidence in one go, complete, with a short explanation of what each document shows.
Address the substance. On the business owner route the assessment covers three areas; strengthening the weakest one is what changes the outcome.
Get help early. An immigration lawyer reads dozens of these decisions a month and recognises which arguments carry weight.

The rule for cases that stall

A separate arrangement exists for holders of Turkish citizenship: where an application as a self-employed person has been pending for three years or longer, with lawful residence throughout and the delay lying outside your own conduct, the permit may be granted on that basis. It flows from the agreement between the European Union and Turkey and it exists in that context alone.

What to do while you wait

Keep everything current: registration, address details, and any deadline attached to your existing permit. And keep working stays closed off until a permit allows it, which includes work for a company you own yourself.

Filing well the first time remains cheaper than any objection. The requirements per route sit in the scoring test and becoming an approved employer.
