What your team needs before the start
- The notification of posted workers. The employer reports the work online before it starts: the type of work, the location, the client, the duration and the country where social security is paid. Your Dutch client checks this notification.
- Proof of social security. Staff from the EU usually stay insured in their home country during a short project. The A1 certificate from your home country shows this.
- A citizen service number (BSN). For a short stay, your staff register as non-residents and receive a BSN. They need it for payroll, the bank and healthcare.
- Staff from outside the EU. Extra rules apply. We check them per person, before the travel is booked.
- Payroll and tax. We check whether Dutch payroll tax applies to your team, and arrange it where needed. See Dutch payroll.
The practical side
- Housing near the site, for the length of the project.
- Transport: rental cars or vans, parking and fuel cards.
- Insurance for liability and the equipment on site, through a licensed insurance broker.
- Safety: the site rules and certificates your client asks for.
- A local contact who speaks Dutch and English and answers your team during the project.
How it works
- Intake. You send the project details: client, location, start date, duration and the names and nationalities of your team. You receive a written proposal with the fee.
- Checklist. We make one list per person and per company: notifications, permits, registrations and documents.
- Arrangements. We file the notifications, book the registration appointments and arrange housing, transport and insurance with partners selected for your project.
- Start. Your team comes to the Netherlands with the arrangements made. During the project, you have one contact person on our team in the Netherlands.
For projects that last longer
Do you have more projects in the Netherlands, or does a project last longer than a year? Then your own Dutch company can make the work easier, with a local contract partner, a Dutch VAT number and Dutch payroll. See Dutch BV incorporation.
