Sweden: business register and trade
The Swedish Companies Registration Office keeps Sweden's business register and is the data controller. Business registration started in 1897, and since 2002 all incoming information for the register has been converted into digital format.
Anyone can obtain information from the register by contacting the office. Its website offers the Näringslivsregistret (Company register) e-service, where certain information is free of charge, and the Sök företagsinformation (Search for company information) e-service.
The office charges for documents as a fee-funded authority. Documents can be ordered by telephone, email or post and paid by invoice or card. Recorded information is published in the national publication Post- och Inrikes Tidningar.
In 2025, the Netherlands exported goods worth €13 billion to Sweden and imported goods worth €7 billion from Sweden, according to provisional figures.
