How SEO works
Google wants to send people to the most useful page for their question. With SEO, you make your page the most useful answer to that question. You may get a short boost with tricks, but you lose it over time. You get lasting results with useful content.
Step 1: Know what your customers search for
Before you write anything, list the questions and phrases your ideal customers type into Google. Free tools such as Google’s own autocomplete and “people also ask” suggestions show real search behaviour. Build your content around those questions.
Step 2: Make pages for clear, specific topics
Give each page one topic, a clear title, a useful answer and a layout that readers can scan easily. A vague page about everything fails to rank. A specific page with a good answer to one question can rank for years.
Step 3: Get the basics right on each page
- A clear page title (also the "title tag") that includes the topic.
- A useful meta description (the snippet under the title in search results).
- Clear headings (h2, h3), so readers can scan the page.
- Helpful content of a useful length, free of padding.
- Fast loading and a mobile-friendly layout.
Step 4: Earn links and mentions over time
Google gives more weight to pages that other reputable sites link to. A reliable way to earn links is to publish content that other people want to reference, and then let people know about it. Buying or trading links is risky and against Google’s rules.
Step 5: Be patient
SEO is a slow channel. New pages can take weeks to months to rank. After that, visitors keep coming to your site, and you spend zero extra on ads. Working consistently is more important than working in bursts.
You can set up the company by power of attorney, from any country. This usually happens within one week once all documents are complete. See setting up a BV in the Netherlands from abroad.
