From a compound to a Dutch town
Wassenaar, Amstelveen and the Gooi are safe and spacious, with a strong community, like a compound in Doha. These towns are open and free of walls. Children cycle to school. Parents reach Amsterdam or The Hague in half an hour, and the coast is a ten-minute drive. See where families buy a home.

Schools
The Randstad has the same British, American and IB schools that families know from Doha. Arabic-speaking families attend all of them. The main limit is the timing of enrolment, so start your shortlist a year ahead. See international schools in the Netherlands.
Healthcare and daily life
Standard Dutch health insurance costs about €150 per adult per month, and children are insured for free. There are halal restaurants and mosques across the region. Qatar Airways has direct flights between Doha and Schiphol, which helps with family visits.
You can arrange the notary, the KVK registration and the VAT number from abroad. See setting up a BV in the Netherlands.
Residence and sequence
The residence permit depends on the family business. You can use your own BV as a recognised sponsor, or apply under the scheme for self-employed people. Follow the 90-day checklist for the order of the steps. First you set up the company, remotely. See the Qatar incorporation guide.
