Notary costs (the largest single item)
A Dutch civil-law notary must execute the incorporation deed. Two options: online notary services (Firm24, LegalDutch, Ligo) charge €399–800 for a standard BV. Traditional notaries charge €800–2,000. Both produce legally identical results. For complex structures (holding + operating, special voting rights, multiple share classes), traditional notaries are usually preferred and run €1,500–3,000.
KVK registration
The Chamber of Commerce charges €75.80 to register your BV in the Dutch trade register. This is paid once, at the moment of registration. The notary typically handles this on your behalf as part of the deed execution.
Tax and accounting setup
You will need an accountant from day one for VAT returns, payroll and annual accounts. Annual cost: €1,500–3,500 for a small BV; €3,500–6,500 for a holding + operating structure. For setup advice and structure design, expect a one-time fee of €500–1,500 from a qualified advisor.
Banking and ongoing costs
Business bank account: €0–15 per month (Bunq, Knab) or €15–25 (traditional banks). Domain, website, business address (if needed): €30–200 per month. Insurance (AVB, BAV): €30–150 per month combined.
